Description

Timeless Design. Refined Details.

Handcrafted in Türkiye, this white cotton bed linen set brings together softly structured plain-weave cotton fabric, hand-crocheted cotton lace and carefully finished piko/sarma stitching in a quiet, heirloom-inspired composition.

The set includes one generously sized bed sheet and two matching pillowcases. The bed sheet is finished with approximately 10 cm of white cotton crochet lace along two opposite sides, extending the finished width from 230 cm of fabric to approximately 250 cm.

The two pillowcases follow the same design language on a smaller scale. Each is made from a 70 × 48.5 cm cotton fabric body and finished with approximately 10 cm of crochet lace along one selected edge, creating a finished front width of approximately 80 cm.

Rather than covering the textile with ornament, the design keeps the white cotton surface calm and uninterrupted, allowing the handmade lace to define the edges. Decorative wave-pattern machine stitching — traditionally referred to as piko/sarma — provides a clean transition between fabric and lace and completes the selected edges.

The crochet lace is made by hand, while the piko/sarma finish is applied by machine for a neat and controlled edge.

Made from white cotton throughout, the set is designed as a complete bed linen composition rather than a collection of separate decorative trims.

HANDMADE CHARACTER

The crochet lace used in this GOGOLI set is individually made by hand.

Subtle differences in stitch tension, scalloped contours, lace width or the rhythm of repeated sections are natural characteristics of genuine hand crochet.

The cotton fabric is assembled and finished with decorative piko/sarma machine stitching to create a clean and consistent connection between the textile and the handmade lace.

These small variations are not defects. They preserve the presence of the hand within the finished textile and ensure that each set retains its own quiet individuality.

FINAL PREPARATION

Because this piece passes through several stages of handwork and finishing — including the hand-crocheting of the lace, fabric sourcing, sewing and decorative piko/sarma finishing — it is professionally dry-cleaned after purchase and before dispatch as a final preparation step.

This allows the completed set to be carefully checked and sent to you freshly prepared and clean.

Now it has found its way to you, and its story continues with you.

Care

Gentle care will help preserve the cotton fabric, crochet lace and decorative piko/sarma finishing.

For best preservation, wash gently in cool or lukewarm water using a mild detergent suitable for cotton and delicate textiles.

If machine washing, use a delicate cycle and low spin. Avoid washing with garments or textiles containing hooks, zippers or rough surfaces that may catch the crochet lace.

Do not bleach, scrub, twist or aggressively wring the lace sections.

Reshape the crochet edges while damp and dry naturally. Avoid prolonged high heat and do not tumble dry at high temperature.

The plain cotton areas may be ironed at a suitable cotton setting when necessary. Around the crochet lace and piko/sarma finished edges, use lower heat and a protective cloth and avoid stretching or flattening the lace.

Store clean and fully dry.

Design

The design is built around the meeting point between a quiet white cotton surface and a more expressive handmade crochet edge.

The main body of the sheet remains intentionally simple. Its uninterrupted plain-weave cotton surface creates space for the lace to become the defining element rather than an additional decoration competing with the textile beneath it.

Along two opposite sides, the hand-crocheted lace introduces a soft scalloped rhythm. At approximately 10 cm at its widest point, it adds presence to the edge while preserving the generous scale and simplicity of the sheet.

The pillowcases repeat this relationship in a more concentrated form. A single lace-trimmed edge extends the front width from 70 cm of cotton fabric to approximately 80 cm, visually connecting the smaller pieces to the bed sheet.

Decorative piko/sarma machine stitching marks the transition between cotton and crochet with a controlled wave-pattern finish. The machine-worked detail is deliberately restrained, supporting the handmade lace rather than competing with it.

Handmade crochet, plain cotton and precise finishing are kept visually distinct but materially connected.

Made in Türkiye, the set reflects GOGOLI’s approach to traditional textile work: familiar techniques brought together through proportion, restraint and details intended to remain relevant beyond a single season.
